A man allegedly murdered his parents and elder brother at their residence in south Delhi’s Maidangarhi area on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased, identified as Prem Singh (50), Rajni (45), and Ritik (24), were found lying in a pool of blood at their home, police added.
“A call regarding the murder of three family members in Maidangarhi was reported on Wednesday,” said Ankit Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).
He added, “We were informed about the case after a PCR call was received at Maidan Garhi police station, stating, ‘A man has cut his hand off; there’s blood on the knife and at their home.’ With this information, a team was immediately sent to the location for inspection.”
At the residence, two dead bodies were found on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The crime team, along with forensic experts, was called to the scene to collect evidence. The bodies were photographed and later sent for autopsy, the officer said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the fourth member of the family, Siddharth (23), who is also the prime suspect, was missing from the scene.
Locals told police that Siddharth was undergoing psychiatric treatment. “It has also emerged that he had confessed to someone that he had murdered his family and would not live here anymore,” the officer added.
Multiple teams have been formed, and the investigation is underway. The crime scene has been secured, and further details are awaited.
