Following a dispute, a 49-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by his neighbour and associates in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar, the Delhi Police said on Tuesday.
The police said the victim, Mukesh Kumar Singhal, was injured and was hospitalised with deep cuts on his forehead and scalp. His left hand also sustained wounds, leading to swelling.
As per the police, Singhal was allegedly attacked by his neighbour, Samshad, accompanied by his younger brother and their associates, over some personal dispute on Monday evening.
Singhal, who sustained grievous injuries, was immediately rushed to Batra Hospital by family members and some locals.
“Based on a PCR call, the medico-legal case from the hospital, and the statement of the victim that was recorded by the officers, a case has been registered at Sangam Vihar police station,” a senior police officer said.
Adding to his statement further, he said the victim is undergoing medical treatment and his condition is stable.
Moreover, efforts are being put forth to apprehend the suspects involved in this case and to ascertain the exact cause of the dispute between the parties in ongoing investigations, the officer added.
