A 34-year-old man has been arrested along with two accomplices for allegedly murdering the husband of a woman who had accused him of rape, police said.

The main accused was apprehended in Gurugram on Friday, while his two accomplices, who allegedly helped dispose of the body, were arrested on Saturday, a senior police officer said.

According to investigators, the accused was reportedly in an illicit relationship with the woman, who is his neighbor.

On Monday, the woman filed a missing person complaint stating she had last seen her husband on July 26.

Subsequently, on Thursday, she filed a second complaint, alleging that her 34-year-old neighbor had raped her in March, recorded the assault on video, and threatened to post it online.

She further expressed suspicion that the accused was involved in her husband’s disappearance.

Following her statements, a case was registered under Sections 64 (rape), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 333 (house trespass with intent to cause hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the accused.
