Incidentally, Banerjee had paid a surprise visit to Sambhunath Pandit hospital and Ramrick Das Harlalka hospital yesterday.
The waste management in state-run hospitals is done by the Public Works Department (PWD) and not by Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).
At the SSKM, Banerjee spoke to senior officials of the hospital as well as staff members.
