Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has assured that her government will fulfill every promise made to the women of the national capital. She said in the past one year, major decisions have been taken to ensure safety, prosperity, and empowerment of city’s women.
Gupta shared that the decisions include collateral-free loans of up to Rs 10 crore for the women, permission for women to work in night shifts, free bus travel through the Saheli Pink Card, free gas cylinders on the occasion of festivals like Holi and Diwali, empowerment of the daughters with the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, HPV vaccination campaign for prevention of cervical cancer, and free of cost 3D mammography screening for women.
She said that all these initiatives are just a beginning. The national capital will soon set an example of women empowerment for the entire country.
Earlier, the chief minister had informed that taking an inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Meri Punji, Mera Adhikar, the Delhi government has disbursed nearly Rs 200 crore to around 70,000 girls under the Ladli Scheme, clearing long-pending payments that had remained unclaimed in accounts and had not reached the beneficiaries earlier.
Gupta had said that the PM’s unwavering faith in “Nari Shakti” clearly reflects in the fact that women remain at the centre of every major initiative. She had stated that empowering women in the national capital is a clear resolve of her government, and in this direction, it will continue to open doors of new opportunities and possibilities for the women. “Delhi’s women power is the greatest strength of a developed Delhi,” she remarked.
