Kolkata Police hold meeting with investigative agencies on drug trafficking

The Kolkata Police held a meeting along with 20 other investigative agencies to deal with drug trafficking.

The meeting which took place on Monday at the Kolkata Police headquarters, was attended by the Commissioner of the Kolkata Police and other high-ranking police officers.

It should be noted that monthly meetings are held in order to enhance coordination between the enforcement agencies.

Officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Customs Department, the Excise Department, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), the Health Department, and a number of other investigative agencies take part in these meetings.

At the meeting various agencies held discussions over the amount of drugs seized and the number of arrests carried out in the previous month. They also shared intelligence regarding drug trafficking networks and those suspected of trafficking.

As part of the meeting, the Kolkata Police headquarters showed a number of slides which focused on recent anti-narcotics operations, the seizure data and the enforcement actions currently underway.
