Three drug traffickers were arrested and a massive quantity of cocaine has been recovered in Kolkata following a raid in the Karaya locality.

According to the police, large quantities of drugs are being smuggled into the city for rave parties, with cocaine being in high demand.

Police stated that they received a tip-off regarding a hideout established by foreign drug smugglers on Ahiripukur Road in Karaya.

Officers from the Karaya Police Station raided the premises and recovered 104 grams of cocaine, valued at over Rs 10 lakh.

The three traffickers have been identified as Azaharuddin Khan, Mohammad Asfaq, and Latafat Khan. Police investigations revealed the involvement of agents acting as intermediaries for the smuggling ring.

These agents connected with foreign suppliers via the dark web. The drugs reached Kolkata either concealed within courier shipments or carried personally by individuals.

The arrested individuals were tasked with distributing the foreign drugs in small packets, primarily for rave parties.

Police are currently interrogating the arrested men to track down the agents and users involved. Simultaneously, an investigation is underway to determine how the drugs entered the city and how they evaded detection by airport scanners.
