Amit Shah takes part in roadshow in Silchar
The roadshow was organised to generate support for Parimal Suklabaidya, Lok Sabha candidate of BJP from Silchar seat.
Ram Prakash Chauhan, who was known to his followers as ‘Chuma Baba’ or ‘Kissing Baba’, was arrested on Wednesday from Bhoraltup village.
A self-styled godman, who claimed to have cured women with his ‘chamatkari chumban’ (miraculous kiss), has now been put behind bars by the Assam police.
Ram Prakash Chauhan, who was known to his followers as ‘Chuma Baba’ or ‘Kissing Baba’, was arrested on Wednesday from Bhoraltup village.
The kissing baba, who claimed that he has supernatural powers acquired from Lord Vishnu, had set up a temple in Bhoraltup around three months ago.

Chauhan, a native of a village in Assam’s Morigaon district, claimed that hugging or kissing women were his ‘methods’ to cure their physical and psychological problems including marital discord.
Police said that they received various complaints alleging that Chauhan was exploiting his devotees.
According to media reports, police have also arrested Chauhan’s mother who helped in spreading the information about her son’s alleged supernatural gift.
People used to visit Chauhan for his help and he used to ‘cure’ women in the temple set up by him outside his home.
Chauhan and his mother are currently being interrogated by police.
