Khushwant Singh Literary festival to kick start from Oct 6

Three day long, the sixth edition of Khushwant Singh Literary festival – 2017 is scheduled to kick start from October 6 in Kasauli.

Indian economist, journalist, author and politician Arun Shourie will address the gathering with his inaugural address on October 6.

Besides, actors Anupam Kher, Asha Parekh, acclaimed writers Mark Tully and Shobhaa De will also be present at the Literary festival.

The Khushwant Singh Literary festival is an annual event organised by Khushwant Singh foundation in Kasauli every October since 2012 and has witnessed participation of renowned personalities from India and abroad.

Since Khushwant Singh had spent a sizable chunk of his life at Kasauli in Raj Villa, the festival is held every year to commemorate his life and achievements.

The festival seeks to impart the joy of learning through stories, through books, through real life experiences that impact the lives of the people.

It is probably the only literary festival dedicated to the cause of the girl child and ecology of Kasauli and also dedicated to the Indian soldier.

Last year the festival was held on October 14, with a concept theme ‘Breaking Barriers’ focusing on various issues that included ecology, heritage.
