To make Haryana “pothole free”, Chief Minister (CM), Manohar Lal on Monday directed the concerned departments to dispose of complaints received on “Harpath App” pertaining to the roads in the state within 96 hours (four days).

The “Harpath Haryana Citizen Grievance” mobile app enables citizens to report the road conditions like damaged road and accident blackspot along with location-based information and photograph. The same is then routed to the concerned engineer of the respective responsible department.

Presiding over a meeting to review the functioning of “Harpath App” today, the CM said the App has been launched to make roads of the state pothole free and motorable. The concerned departments should immediately undertake the complaints received on the App and redress the same within the prescribed time frame.

Five departments — Public Works Department ( Buildings and Roads) Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB), Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), Urban Local Bodies (ULB) department and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) are involved in the construction and repair of roads in the state.

While reviewing the condition of roads in rural areas, the CM directed the HSAMB to take effective measures for further improving the quality of roads.

He said that quality checks should be got conducted by the Board on regular basis so as to maintain the quality of rural roads.

It was informed in the meeting that out of the 21,500 complaints received on the “Harpath App” so far, 70 percent complaints have been redressed while 29 percent complaints have been rejected.

The concerned departments have to undertake all complaints pertaining to the roads except for roads under litigation and private roads. It was also informed that a unique feature has also been made available on the “Harpath App” as per which if a complainant wrongly addressed the complaint to a department, the same could be transferred to the other concerned
department.
