In solidarity with Delhi traders who are suffering due to sealing drive in the national capital, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has decided not to celebrate Holi this year.

The AAP has been protesting against sealing, urging the Centre to bring an ordinance to protect properties of traders from getting sealed in Delhi.

Delhi is witnessing a massive drive to seal commercial shops in local markets, executed by the BJP-led Municipal Corporations of Delhi under the supervision of a Supreme Court’s monitoring committee.

In the past one-month or so, many establishments had been sealed, rendering popular markets like Karol Bagh, Model Town, and Defence Colony virtually lifeless.

The AAP government was also mulling to move the Supreme Court seeking a temporary ban on the ongoing sealing drive in the national capital.

The CM had visited Karol Bagh, Defence Colony, Hauz Khaz, Model Town and Chandni Chowk to talk with the traders affected by the ongoing sealing drive.

Meanwhile, Delhi traders have also decided not to celebrate Holi and instead burn sealing effigies on 28 February ~a day before Holi~ across the city.
