Kejriwal nervous about ED probe against Punjab minister reaching him: Sachdeva

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva strongly condemned Arvind Kejriwal for describing the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) action against Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora as a political controversy.

Sachdeva claimed that Kejriwal appeared visibly nervous during a press conference on Saturday, clearly indicating that he knows the ED’s investigation involving Arora could eventually reach him. Arora’s arrest in a money laundering raid involving builders mirrors the ten years of corruption-ridden governance witnessed in the national capital, during which the then chief minister, deputy chief minister, and MPs went to jail in connection with the liquor scam.

The Delhi BJP president alleged that for the last four years, Punjab has become a center of loot for team Kejriwal.

“Just as the AAP government in Delhi orchestrated a scam worth thousands of crores in collusion with liquor contractors, a similar game of large-scale corruption is taking place in Punjab by granting major builders permission for land-use changes, excessive FAR approvals, and plotting permissions,” he said.
He recounted how two days ago, during an ED search at the premises of a close associate of the Punjab Chief Minister, bundles of cash worth lakhs of rupees were reportedly seen flying in the air.

Sachdeva also stated that Arora is not the first minister arrested in a corruption case; AAP ministers have been arrested on corruption charges before.
