Virendra Sachdeva, chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Delhi unit, on Wednesday said that residents of the national capital were shocked to see Arvind Kejriwal repost a social media post by his own MLA, Ajay Dutt, commenting on the sanitation situation in the city.
Sachdeva alleged that due to political bias, Kejriwal had curtailed or withheld funds meant for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for nearly a decade, adversely affecting sanitation services.
He, however, claimed that over the past year, with what he described as a “triple-engine government,” there has been visible and tangible improvement in general maintenance, sanitation, primary education, and healthcare services under the Municipal Corporation.
The Delhi BJP chief further stated that for over 12 years, residents of Ambedkar Nagar have consistently raised complaints with AAP MLA Ajay Dutt and councillors Arun Navariya regarding poor sanitation, but neither the elected representatives nor former Chief Minister Kejriwal paid adequate attention.
Sachdeva said that the recent social media posts by Kejriwal and Dutt on Ambedkar Nagar have exposed the failures of AAP MLAs and councillors over the past 13 years.
He reiterated that, according to him, nearly 10 to 12 Assembly constituencies and around 40 municipal wards in Delhi were turned into political strongholds by Kejriwal in the name of caste or religion, while being deprived of development.
Sachdeva added that the BJP government is committed to ensuring development reaches all such areas by 2030.
