Juvenile gets 20 years RI for rape, murder of six-year-old

The Court of Additional Session Judge-cum-Special Judge, Children’s Court, Hisar has sentenced a juvenile to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping and killing a six-year-old girl of Uklana in Hisar district.

The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 on him, a spokesman of Police Department said on Wednesday.

He said the police had ensured speedy trial of the case after submitting challan in the court in a very short span of time. All these resulted in severe punishment to accused, besides justice to the victim and her family.

Giving further details, the spokesman said that the incident took place on December 8, 2017 when accused juvenile kidnapped six-year-old girl from near her house.

The accused took the girl to a secluded place and then raped and murdered her. The body of victim girl was found near to her house on December 9, 2017.

After registering First Information Report against the accused under various sections of the IPC and provisions of the POCSO Act, police had arrested juvenile on 14 December.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted headed by the then SP Hisar, Manisha Choudhary for investigation into this case along with two DSPs as members.

It was first of its kind case in which Haryana Police got done Narco analysis test, polygraph and brain mapping test of accused from FSL, Gandhinagar in Gujarat, the spokesperson said.
