The J-K Governor’s adviser Khurshid Ahmed Ganai on Friday urged the Bollywood to rediscover the incomparable scenic beauty of Kashmir and assured that the state government will support shooting of movies.

He assured the Bollywood’s big production houses of government’s full support in facilitating their shooting plans and itineraries in the country’s top tourist destination.

Ganai, who is also the adviser in-charge of tourism, was speaking to a gathering in Srinagar in the presence of film actor John Abraham and filmmaker and producer Bunty Walia, who are in Kashmir for shooting of their new film.

Welcoming the guests, the adviser said he was pleased to see big actors like John Abraham shooting in the valley and exuded confidence that other Bollywood bigwigs will soon come back to roll out their cameras here. “I am happy that you have enjoyed your shooting stints in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, but I assure you that there are many other locations that define J-K’s unique splendour,” he added.

Ganai also recalled the era of the Sixties and Seventies when Kashmir remained one-stop destination for top filmmakers of the country.
