J&K Governor NN Vohra visits LoC villages


On a day long visit to the areas along the Line of Control (LoC), Jammu & Kashmir Governor NN Vohra reviewed problems of the people due to frequent shelling by Pakistan army and also the safety arrangements for the civilians.

He received a comprehensive briefing from Maj. Gen. Suchindra, GOC 25 Div, about the management of the entire stretch of LoC which comes in the area of responsibility of this important Army Formation.

The Governor, who was in the Rajouri district on Wednesday, was also informed about the varied help which the Army provides to the people living in the border belt who undergo considerable suffering when the Pakistan Army breaches the Cease Fire Agreement and resorts to cross-border firing, which has been happening far too often this year.

Governor was also briefed by ShahidIqbal, Deputy Commissioner, and his officers about the varied serious problems faced by the residents of villages along the LoC and the rescue, relief and rehabilitation support being provided by the district administration.

The Deputy Commissioner also briefed the Governor about the shelter sheds being constructed for the safety of the local residents in the villages which were being affected by wanton firing by Pakistan.
