Jai Ram govt promoting back-door entry in jobs, says Cong

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

Congress has accused the Chief Minister Jai Ram government of promoting back-door entry in government jobs.

Talking to media persons here, All India Congress Committee (AICC) member, Kuldeep Rathore referred to a DO (Demi Official) letter of a cabinet minister going viral on social media and alleged that the cabinet minister has always encouraged back-door entry to recruit people from his constituency in the departments held by him.

Targeting the minister, he cautioned the state government that Congress will in no way tolerate this and will oppose such recruitments.

He accused the BJP of encouraging regional for divide, for dividing Himachal into upper and lower Himachal and the apple producing belt of the upper Himachal is always ignored.

Injustice is being meted out to the people from the apple belt and the state government is not at all concerned about the problems faced by the farmers, he said, adding that owing to apathy of the government the farmers are forced to suffer huge losses.

The recent truckers strike lead to huge losses to farmers, who could not transport their fruit (pears) produce to the market on time and also the state government did not take any steps to provide respite to the farmers, he blamed.

“Apple season is in full swing and all the link roads in the apple producing belt are in bad condition,” he charged, adding that the brunt of it is being borne by the farmers who are dependent on apples for their livelihood.

He demanded that the roads should be repaired at far footing so as to ensure that the farmers and fruit growers can transport their produce to the markets.
