Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur on Friday visited the site of proposed Heliport at Dhalli bye pass near Shimla along-with the senior officers of the state government.
He directed the Tourism department to call tenders immediately for starting construction of the Heliport and complete the work within time period of one year.
He also directed the Public Works department to improve the link road to the proposed site of Heliport.

The CM said that the Heliport in Shimla would prove to be a platform for promotion of high end tourism in the state. He said that state government was giving added priority for expansion of tourism activities in the state for which basic infrastructure would be strengthened.
Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism), Manisha Nanda and other senior officers of the Tourism, Public Works departments and district administration were present with the CM.
