Jai Ram concerned over decreasing interest of people in religion

Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur on Friday said the decreasing interest of people in religion is a matter of concern and spiritual gurus should come forward with selfless spirit to spread religion and values in the society.

“We are leaving behind our traditions and culture somewhere and pushing our life into the clutches of materialism, which is not good. It is the responsibility of every person to conserve and promote our religion and culture so that we could provide the same to the future generations,” he said in his address on the occasion of first death anniversary of Mahant Govind Das, he said in this era of technology.

He also unveiled the statue of Mahant Govind Das in Ram Krishna Ashram in Ladrohi of Jogindernagar Sub-Division of Mandi district.

He said Mahant Govind Das made a significant contribution in beautifying and developing the Ashram and served the people.

He appealed to everyone to take the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign to the masses. He said that the girls not only make homes and families, but also have an important role to play in the building of a better society.
