Israel to aid Haryana on cyber security, recycling of water for agriculture

Israel has offered support to Haryana in the field of sustainable use of recycled water for agriculture, and cyber security.

The offer was made by Dan Alluf, counselor, International Development Co-operation (MASHAV), Science and Agriculture, Embassy of Israel, in a meeting with working group of officers of the state government, constituted under Indo-Israel projects held under the chairmanship of chief secretary DS Dhesi, on Wednesday.

Dan Alluf apprised Dhesi that Israel is already sharing its technology expertise with Haryana in the fields of vegetable, fruits, flowers and dairy and setting up centres of excellence.
Alluf said that Indo-Israel project was commenced in India with the setting up of centre of excellence in Vegetable in Gharaunda, Karnal. At present, centres of excellence are being set up in 16 states of the country, he added.

Dhesi directed principal secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Abhilaksh Likhi, and member-secretary of Group of Officers and deputy commissioner, Gurugram, Vinay Pratap Singh, to get comprehensive details of agreement made by the Central government for improving co-operation between both countries and expedite the projects being implemented in Haryana.

Director general, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, GS Jakhar, apprised that a centre of excellence for Dairy and Milk products is being set up with the co-operation of Israel at Government Livestock Farm in Hisar under the Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.

Principal secretary, Urban Local Bodies, Anand Mohan Sharan informed that Faridabad, Karnal and Gurugram are included in the smart city projects.
