Odisha reports nine rape cases a day
Legal experts are of the view that lower conviction rate is a worrying development in the state.
A 14-month-old girl was alleged to have been physically brutalised by her father’s friend in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
The victim was playing in her house in a village under Lateri Tehsil of Vidisha district on Sunday.
Her father’s friend and neighbour came and took away the child on some pretext.

The girl was found in a brutalised state with injuries on her private parts.
