India’s first ever curated Art and Design fair D/Code unveiled

Home & Design Trends, one of the most widely read architecture and design magazines , presented India’s first ever Art and Design fair – D/Code, curated by award winning architect Ashiesh Shah. The two-day luxury design bespoke exhibition was held at Four Seasons, Worli from 17th to 18th March. The expo was launched in the presence of Sangita Jindal, Chairman, JSW Foundation, Ar. Ashiesh Shah, Ronitaa – Italia Dhanu, Editor, Home & Design Trends Magazine, and Sunil Wuthoo – Head Business Strategy and Special Projects, Worldwide Media followed by a VIP Preview. ​

​ ​​D/code brought together the best in the field of art, decor and design, design brands, artists, and product designers on one platform, with innovation, craftsmanship, art and culture at the forefront. It aims to demystify the strength of d esign in India and establish Mumbai on the global map as the go-to art and design destination in the country . D/Code honoured the ‘Make in India’ initiative with homegrown brands taking centre stage and focused on bridging the gap between demand and supply of Indian-inspired, artisanal products giving global citizens access to everything design-oriented and luxurious in home decor.

Speaking at the launch, editor of  Home & Design Trends​​ ​​Magazine​, Ronitaa​- ​Italia Dhanu said, “Our PM’s ‘Make In India’ initiative has urged us to look inwards, to identify our strengths and project them proudly to put India on the global design map. The business of design is serious and plays a major role in running our economy. D/code aims to demystify and decipher the arts, crafts and design we have grown up with, giving the fraternity a stunning platform for their talent and pursuits. In this, we also open up the country to larger global players, making it a mutually-beneficial scenario- the very raison d’être for D/code.

Speaking about D/code Ashiesh Shah said, “A two-day art and design fair D/code is a new innovative platform I had the pleasure of conceptualizing and curating in association with the Times Group. The first of its kind in the sub-continent, the fair focused of regional design and art. Homegrown designers and artists took take center stage as the exhibition brought together leading brands, galleries and design creatives from across the globe. D/code hopes to demystify the strength of design in India and shine the international spotlight on Mumbai as the go to art and design Destination in the region.”

The luxury design fair included 12+ industry categories, 40+ exclusive design brands and 20,000+ attendees. Various insightful walkthroughs and panel sessions were led by renowned artists such as Farah Siddiqui, Shilpi and Adarsh Jatia, Aziz Amin, Namrata Barua Shroff, Pinky Daga and Namita Sandrangani among others.
