The residents of Delhi-NCR on Tuesday woke up to fresh showers, bringing much-needed relief from the humid weather.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast heavy rainfall for Tuesday in the region while Delhi may have mild to moderate rain over the next four to five days. Heavy rain is also forecast for a number of Uttar Pradesh districts.
The MeT Department, in a release, also stated, “Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Northwest India till 26th August and reduce thereafter. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to continue over Gujarat till the 30th and over Rajasthan till the 27th of August.”
The National Capital can expect more rain today after waking up to new rainstorms on Tuesday.
At 7:10 am, a rainfall notice was issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi, expecting “light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorms and lightning” throughout the Delhi-NCR region, including Gurugram, and other nearby places.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was at 55 on Saturday, falling in the ‘Satisfactory’ category.
