H’yana police signs MoU for accidental insurance cover

Haryana Police and HDFC Bank on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as per which the bank would provide accidental insurance cover up to Rs 15 Lakh and other banking services to the Special Police Officers (SPOs).

The MoU was signed in the presence of Director General of Police (DGP), BS Sandhu and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Human Rights and Litigation OP Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Welfare, Vikas Dhankar and officers of the banks.

A spokesperson of the Police Department said that as per MoU, the bank would provide free services such as ATM withdrawal, balance enquiry and issuance of demand draft.

He said that earlier also, HDFC bank had provided cheque worth Rs Five Lakh for road accidental insurance to SPO Mukesh Kumar posted in Gurugram.

Keeping in view the arduous nature of duty, senior officers of Haryana Police have taken important decisions from time to time for the welfare of police personnel.
