Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services, Himachal Pradesh, Somesh Goyal on Thursday launched Kaara Chocolates which are made by inmates in the Model Central Correctional Homes of Nahan and Kaithu.

Services of a master chef from Chandigarh were taken to train the inmates in making delicious and hygienic chocolates diversifying the bakery portfolio.

Besides several flavours, the chocolates also use nuts like almonds and walnuts.

The chocolates have been launched before the festival of Raksha Bandhan. The DGP hoped that the chocolates will make a wonderful gift on the festival to celebrate the ties of brothers and sisters.

Modestly priced at Rs 250/- for a box containing 48 pieces of assorted chocolates, the Prison Department is giving a free Rakhi on purchase of every box.

The chocolates will be available in all the Himkaara Stores in Shimla at Shimla Book Café, High Court, State Secretariat, District Courts Complex, Chakkar and Kaithu and the Himkaara Store at Nahan.
