Popular tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla on Friday received fresh snow, leading to revival of cold conditions in the state and making the hill station even more picturesque.
Though the snow has brought cheers on the faces of apple growers and hoteliers, it had forced most of the schools in Shimla to close. Many vehicles have been stranded near Kufri and Chopal as roads were blocked due to heavy snowfall.
Meanwhile, lower areas of Himachal including Dharamsala, Palampur, Solan, Nahan, Bilaspur, Una, Hamirpur and Mandi received moderate to heavy rains.
The Met department official said the present western disturbances would remain active till Sunday with the possibility of rain and snow in coming two days.
