The national capital finally received its share of monsoon on Tuesday as heavy rain lashed the city and the National Capital Region (NCR), leading to massive traffic snarls at various places.

While some parts of the capital city received heavy rainfall, others only witnessed a drizzle. In few areas trees were uprooted which led to traffic jam.
There was bumper to bumper traffic from Maharani Bagh towards Ashram after a tree was uprooted. Traffic was affected from Dhaula Kuan to AIIMS due to breakdown of a vehicle. There was also a jam in Model Town due to waterlogging. Near the Indraprastha flyover, vehicles’ movement was affected because of an overflowing sewer.

Waterlogging made it difficult for people to step out of their homes in Dwarka and Gurugram. According to Skymet Weather a few short intense spells of rain and thundershower activities in the National Capital Territory can be expected today. By Wednesday a few good spells of rain will lash the region leading to pleasant and comfortable weather conditions.

The weather forecast website also predicted by August 7, the weather of Delhi and NCR area will once again go dry as the axis of Monsoon Trough will once again shift southwards due to the formation of a Low-Pressure Area that would be traveling to the central parts of the country. However, isolated pockets may continue to get rain. The national capital can expect another spell of rain around August 11 or 12, wherein some good Monsoon showers would be lashing the region.
