Vehicle rams Haryana minister Krishan Lal Panwar’s convoy in Panipat; doctors say minor injuries

A sudden road incident on Friday left Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishan Lal Panwar injured after his convoy was hit by a vehicle on the busy GT Road in Panipat. The minister was immediately taken to a hospital where doctors placed him under medical observation. Officials said his condition is stable and there is no serious threat to his health.

The accident happened while the minister was travelling towards Sonipat after completing an election campaign in Ambala. The journey, which was part of his political schedule, turned alarming when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction rammed into his convoy near Panipat.

BJP leadership confirms minor injuries, says minister Safe

Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli shared details of the incident while speaking to ANI. He confirmed that the convoy was struck by a vehicle that came from the wrong side of the road.

According to him, the impact was sudden but the situation is now under control.

Badoli stated that Krishan Lal Panwar suffered only minor injuries and doctors have advised that he remain under observation for a few days. He also reassured that the minister is out of danger and is being closely monitored by medical staff.

Haryana civic polls set for May 10, counting on May 13

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India has announced that voting for municipal elections in Ambala, Panchkula, and Sonipat will take place on May 10. Polling will begin at 8:00 am and continue till 6:00 pm.

These elections will decide mayors and ward members of the municipal corporations.

The counting of votes will be held on May 13 starting at 8:00 am under the supervision of the respective Deputy Commissioners.

Along with these, voting will also be conducted for the Chairman posts of Rewari Municipal Council and Dharuhera Municipal Council on the same day.

BJP and Congress field strong candidates across cities

The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its key candidates for the civic polls. Former MLA Sham Lal Bansal will contest from Panchkula for the mayor’s post. Akshita Saini has been fielded in Ambala, and Rajiv Jain is the BJP nominee for Sonipat. The party is also relying on its “triple-engine government” narrative, aiming to align state, central, and local governance.

On the other side, the Congress has also placed its candidates in major contests. Kamal Diwan will fight for the mayor’s post in Sonipat. Sudha Bhardwaj is the party’s choice in Panchkula. Neharika Praveen Chaudhary will contest for the Rewari Municipal Council Chairman position.
