Haryana: KG girls’ schools to be upgraded

To promote the girl’s education in the state, Haryana Chief Minister (CM), Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday directed for upgradation of  all Kasturba Gandhi BalikaVidyalayas (KGBVs), set up in the educational backward blocks in the state, upto  Class12 level and making available all necessary  facilities and infrastructure.

Presiding over the 7th meeting of General Council of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) of Haryana School Shiksha Priyojna Parishad, the CM also directed that science stream should also be introduced in KGBVs once they are upgraded upto Class 12.

He said that the state government is committed to improve the quality of education in government schools of the state.

The Union ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) had approved 36 KGBVs for 36 Educational Backward Blocks of the state. Out of these, 31 are functional in residential mode of which eight KGBVs had been upgraded to secondary level under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).

While reviewing the progress  of SSA for the Financial  Year  2016-17 and  2017-18, CM Khattar stressed the need for creating, introducing and organizing more innovations and activities for inspiring students and their keen involvement in them.

Besides, he directed that maximum efforts should be made to release the grant installments timely from Union government and also speed up the expenditure being made as per the Plan budget 2017-18.

It was informed that under the Pedagogy component-‘Padhe Bharat-Badhe Bharat’ many activities were introduced and implemented with a view to create interest about language among students.

Various approaches and methods had been introduced in the school.
