The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Sunday accused the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) led state government of preparing the ground for the complete privatisation of education in the state.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, INLD Member of Parliament from Hisar, Dushyant Chautala claimed that as part of this process, no recruitment in the education department will be made through the constitutional bodies.

Instead, the recruitment would be done by private recruitment agencies on the basis of commission per head. Thus all schools, from primary to Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya will be covered under the new recruitment policy, he said.

Chautala said that this policy has already been endorsed by the Chief Minister ManoharLal and as a first step the contract for recruitment of group C and D category of employees has already been handed out to the private sector.

“Steps have already been taken by a new company to recruit candidates against the vacant posts. The companies selected for the job will be handed over a contract for seven years and will get a commission of 2.01 percent while the teachers will be paid a lump sum of amount. Such companies will be recruiting teachers for primary schools of the state”, Chautala claimed.

The Hisar MP said that this anti-people and anti-education policy of the government will adversely impact the equality of opportunity right to seek employment since the teachers will be recruited on the basis of the will of the recruitment agency and the authority that has the power to select it.

“It will also ignore the legal provisions that have made reservation a law to bring about social justice to the backward and the downtrodden”, he said.

Chautala claimed that the Haryana government has adopted a Gujarat model of outsourcing and said that the government will also render the Haryana Staff Selection Commission and employment exchanges redundant.

He disclosed that according to information received through Right To Information (RTI), in 12 districts of the state there were 2,62,768 registered unemployed.

“Of these, only 290 have been provided jobs by the government, which is barely 0.1 percent of the total registered unemployed. The same RTI also informs that under the much touted scheme to provide employment of 100 hours to the unemployed youth only 9,948 have been provided employment for 100 hours which is only three percent of the registered youth under the scheme”, said Chautala.

He asked the state government to immediately withdraw this scheme, and if not, the opposition will be forced to knock on the doors of the courts.

He also warned that soon ‘RozgarMeraAdhikar’ (job fair right) movement will be launched to secure justice for the youth in the state.
