Haryana Budget to focus on all-around development: Min

Haryana Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu on Thursday said that the upcoming Budget of the state would be people-friendly laid on balancing the rural economy.

While interacting with media persons during Holi Milan programme organized at his residence, Abhimanyu said that being the Finance Minister of the state, he would present the next budget in which focus would be laid on balancing the rural economy.

The budget of 2018-19 would be presented keeping in view the aspirations of 2.5 Crore people of the state and emphasis would be laid on all around development without any political discrimination, he added.

The minister said, “The budget would be presented keeping in view the SabkaSaath, SabkaVikas (Collective Efforts, Inclusive Growth) policy determined by Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government.”

On being asked about subsidy being given to agriculture sector, Abhimanyu said that the Haryana government was committed for the welfare of the farmers and subsidy would be given to agriculture sector.

Abhimanyu said that in future, seminars would be organized in universities and other educational institutions for seeking suggestions on budget. Haryana has witnessed growth in total gross domestic product (GDP). During the previous regimes in Haryana, the state used to stand on 14th position in Ease of Doing Business, has now reached to number one spot during the present rule, he added.

He further stated that the elections to Haryana VidhanSabha would be held on time, that is, in 2019.

When asked to comment on the suggestion given by the Punjab government to name the Chandigarh International Airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the Finance Minister said that this suggestion was first given by the present Haryana government to the Central government.
