Haryana Police have arrested two persons, including a sacked employee, involved in shooting and injuring a Human Resources (HR) head at a Gurugram-based Japanese organisation.

The accused have been identified as Joginder (the sacked employee) and Dayachand, who were produced before a court on Friday, said police, while adding that further investigations are underway in the case to identify their accomplices.

Enraged at being terminated from service, Joginder along with his accomplice allegedly opened fire and injured HR head DInesh Sharma.

The incident took place around 9 am when the victim, Dinesh Sharma, was going to his office in IMT, Manesar, in a car.

The bike-borne accused intercepted Dinesh Sharma’s car at gunpoint. When he did not stop, the pillion rider opened fire at Sharma, Gurgaon Police PRO Ravinder Kumar told PTI.

Sharma suffered two bullet injuries, he said.

Some passersby called the police and Sharma was admitted to Rockland Hospital where he is said to be out of danger, said Kumar.

“We have arrested main accused Joginder and Daya Chand, while a hunt is on for one Krishan and others, also involved in the crime,” Kumar said.

Earlier, Sharma had sacked Joginder over his alleged “unprofessional behaviour”, the officials said.

Joginder had threatened Sharma with dire consequences but the HR head did not take his warning seriously, the officer added.

We have registered a case under relevant sections (of the Indian Penal Code) against Joginder and his accomplice. Investigation is underway and raids are being conducted at all possible hideouts of the attackers. We will arrest them soon, the PRO said.
