The arrival of monsoon in Goa on Thursday has brought a decrease in the maximum temperature. This has brought relief to the residents as well as tourists.
On the other hand, there was no big change in the minimum temperature.
The south-west monsoon has given relief to the state. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said this monsoon brought down the temperature in the state.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers will be seen at many places in the coming five days.
The IMD said, “The highest maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius was recorded at Panjim (North Goa) and Mormugao (South Goa). But there was no large change in minimum temperature and it was normal over North and South Goa districts.”
The Indian Meteorological Department said the lowest minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius was recorded at Panaji and Mormugao.
The department predicted that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in North and South Goa districts.
Sources also said that people are enjoying the lowered temperature and pleasant atmosphere.
