Full-dress rehearsal held at Red Fort ahead of 79th Independence Day celebrations

The capital witnessed the full-dress rehearsal carried out by the security personnel from various forces for the upcoming 79th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort, here today.

Contingents from the Indian Navy, Air Force, Army, paramilitary services and Delhi police, along with the school children, and cultural troupes, participated in the rehearsal. The Tri-Service Band also featured during the rehearsals.

In a statement issued through a post on X, the Ministry of Defence stated that on the occasion of Independence Day 2025, the nation is honouring distinguished individuals whose dedication and contributions have brought pride to India. “Among them, Mr. Obili Kumar from Andhra Pradesh has been invited as a Special Guest at the Red Fort. On this momentous occasion, let us listen to his thoughts and sentiments,” read the post.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has invited the general public for the rendition of the Army Symphony Band at India Gate on August 15th. Themed “Symphony of Freedom” the band would be playing a series of patriotic melodies.
