The AAP leader said in Kot Guru village of Bathinda district, he was informed that four farmers have committed suicide during last three months. Two of them belong to Dalit family. All these 4 farmers have taken land on lease, but their cotton crop was destroyed. They got a meager compensation and had to take loan to pay the rent of the land.

Phoolka was also informed by the villagers that there is a huge scam in distribution of compensation. Many farmers whose crop is destroyed were not given compensation, whereas, many others close to Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) leaders who did not even suffer any loss were given huge amount.

He requested to Speaker that as the suicide cases are happening everyday, a special session of Punjab Assembly should be called at the earliest to discuss the issue and to find a solution to stop these suicide. Phoolka has also written a letter to demand the special session of the Assembly.
