The fake news industry has grown by leaps and bounds under the tutelage of the BJP.
Special Cell of Delhi Police nabbed a member of a gang allegedly involved in pumping in fake Indian currency notes (FICN) smuggled from across the border. Police claimed it recovered fake notes worth Rs. 3 lakh in 2000 denomination. The accused was identified as Narender, 45.
DCP Special Cell PS Kushwah stated that the notes were smuggled from Farakka town in West Bengal. “After demonetisation there was a pause for a while but in early second quarter of 2017 police received inputs that smuggling of fake notes had again started. So far 14 people have been arrested and fake notes worth Rs 46,54,000 have been recovered,” the DCP said.
He claimed, “arrest of Narender is a massive crackdown as he was about to pump fake notes worth Rs. 3 lakh. Earlier most of the arrested accused confessed that they were procuring fake notes from Bangladesh. The smuggled currency was received in Malda and then distributed to other states.”

Emphasising on the modus operandi of the smugglers, the DCP said the arrestedman informed that consignments of fake notes are thrown over fences at border and received on the Indian side by those operating for smugglers.
