Many large companies to move Appellate Authority against GST demand notices
In recent days, an increasing number of GST notices have been sent to many companies mainly on account of alleged discrepancy in input tax credit (ITC).
Deputy leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Union minister, Anand Sharma on Thursday said economic failures and hasty implementation of flawed GST by the Modi government will weigh heavy in the Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
“The BJP is running scared in Gujarat. In HP, we have achievements. There is incumbency factor, but then the economic failure of the Central government is a big issue,” Sharma told mediapersons.
He said the Prime Minister with his wrong decisions has ruined the economy of the country. He said that the people in the country were frustrated over the policies of the Modi government from demonetisation to GST.

Sharma said the Modi government had no roadmap for the country’s development. He said after the Gujarat model of development, the Business model of BJP president, Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah has come to the fore. He said the PM, who speaks even on issues that he does not know about, and becomes has kept silent over the episode. “No action has been into the expose about Jay Shah’s company. The central investigation agencies, which are quick to act against political opponents of the government, are not moved,” he said.
About declaration of Virbhadra Singh as CM’s face for the seventh time, the Congress leader said there were other faces in HP. “But when the party is in power, the sitting CM is the face of the government going in polls,” Sharma said.
