Ahead of the upcoming Parliament session, scheduled to be held on April 16, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said women across the country are waiting for the outcome of the discussion paving the way for the passage of the Nari Vandan Adhiniyam with opitimism.
Sachdeva said while women are already active in politics, even those women who have no direct connection with politics are showing keen interests in the Bill that seeks to protect their interests with a provision for 33 per cent resevation envisioned for them under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Late actor Rishi Kapoor’s daughter and a well known jewellery and fashion designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahni spoke to Delhi BJP chief and welcomed the efforts by the BJP government towards women empowerment. She thanked the party for convening a special Parliament session to discuss and pass the Nari Vandan Adhiniyam.

Delhi BJP Vice-President Yogita Singh, along with two prominent women, Sona Sahni Singh and Delhi University Associate Professor Sonali Chitalkar, conveyed the support of Delhi’s intellectual women to the Nari Vandan Bill at a press conference here.
During the press conference, Singh released a video statement of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni in support of the Act, while the Delhi BJP vice-president noted that since independence, women have contributed significantly to nation-building but did not get adequate participation in policy-making. Bringing the Nari Vandan Adhiniyam, she said, the BJP government has ensured proper representation of women in legislatures and Parliament, paving the way for a new India.

Kapoor, in her message, expressed her gratitude to PM Modi for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, stating that the new law will give women an opportunity to move forward with a new identity and respect. “Now, women will be able to express themselves with ease, become stronger and contribute to the progress of the nation,” she added.
A woman entrepreneur, Sona Sahni Shukla, said under PM Modi’s leadership, women are continuously taking up roles like serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other such sectors.

Chitalkar recalled that in 2014 after taking oath of office as the prime minister of India, Modi had emphasized the dignity of women from the ramparts of the Red Fort with his ‘toilets before temples’ mantra. “He did not stop there, but has now reached a stage where he is introducing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,” she added.
