Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood has stated that the state government is continually working to empower students’ aspirations, ensure their emotional well-being, and build future-ready schools across the national capital.
Highlighting the government’s ongoing initiatives in the field of education, Sood on Monday said that the Directorate of Education has launched the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission, which is an initiative to provide free professional coaching to meritorious students of the state government schools, and aims to open new avenues of academic excellence and career opportunities for the youth.
He shared that the government’s vision is to have AI-enabled classrooms, human-centered education, and a truly equal opportunity for every child.
Sood stated that under the scheme, 50 seats per course will be reserved for female students in JEE, NEET, CLAT, and CA Foundation, while CUET-UG will offer 1,000 seats, with 150 reserved for girls, ensuring inclusivity and gender equity.
Under this initiative, the coaching will be provided through premier empanelled institutions.
Students will receive classroom coaching, live sessions, study material, and test preparation support, conducted after their school hours, and also on weekends, he added.
Sood stated, “These students are not just preparing for exams; they are preparing to transform their lives.”
“With this mission, we are not only offering educational resources but also building the courage, confidence, and emotional strength to dream bigger,” Delhi’s education minister added.
Calling this a “turning point in Delhi’s public education”, Sood highlighted that 62,000 students appeared for the Common Entrance Test (CET-2025) conducted on 30 October, demonstrating the enormous aspiration and potential of Delhi’s youth. The counselling process for selected students has concluded, and physical classes commenced on November 26.
Reflecting on recent events in Delhi schools, Sood reiterated the importance of emotionally safe, empathetic, and responsive learning environments.
He asserted that, “No child in Delhi should ever feel unseen, unheard, or unsupported. Education is not just about marks; it is about mental wellness, dignity, and humanity.”
The minister has also asked the schools to strengthen psychological support systems, early distress identification protocols, teacher sensitisation on mental-health issues, peer-support and open communication channels.
Reaffirming the government’s long-term vision, Sood has said that the government is building schools where children learn with joy, teachers teach with pride, and communities engage with purpose.
