Reacting to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation amid widespread protests over the alleged paper leak issue, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said that he had discharged every responsibility in public life with dedication, honesty and commitment.
Gupta said that Pradhan had submitted his resignation while placing the national interest above all else, and that the decision reflected his unwavering commitment to ethical values, dignity and principles in public life.
She expressed hope that his continued efforts in the service of the nation would reach even greater heights.
The Delhi Chief Minister also said that, as Union Education Minister, Pradhan had made a significant contribution to the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
She added that he had introduced several meaningful reforms in the education sector, promoted education in Indian languages, expanded technical and higher education, and created new opportunities for students.
Earlier, referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message thanking youngsters for their overwhelming response and valuable suggestions, Gupta said the Prime Minister’s remarks reflected a style of leadership that values the voice of every young Indian and views them as active partners in building a Viksit Bharat.
Meanwhile, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, reacting to Pradhan’s resignation, said that as Union Education Minister, he had played a pivotal role in reforming India’s education landscape and successfully implementing the landmark National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, among several other initiatives.
Nabin said Pradhan’s decision to step down reflected the highest standards of integrity and selfless service in public life.
“The party stands firmly with Dharmendra Pradhan in this decision. I extend my best wishes for his future endeavours,” Nabin added.
