Following the searches at his residence by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), AAP’s Delhi State chief Saurabh Bharadwaj on Wednesday hit out at the agency, alleging that the marathon raid was nothing but a politically-motivated operation.

Bharadwaj accused officers of the probe agency of pressuring him to sign statements that had been doctored.

The AAP leader, claiming that nothing incriminating was found at his residence as the raid yielded “zero results”, demanded a forensic probe of one of the ED officer’s digital devices and his own printer, where, he said, the original statement exists.

Bharadwaj, during a press conference, alleged that the officials entered into conspiracies with the Centre to falsely implicate political opponents.

He said he told the officials that he held regular meetings every month after assuming charge as the minister back in the day, and had been giving clear directions to speed up the work regarding health infrastructure and added that all this had been documented in minutes of meetings in the past.

The AAP leader said he has evidence of all the meetings regarding speeding up works related to health infrastructure, which he said will be produced before the court at the appropriate stage.

He challenged the allegations made against him, stating that during his tenure as an MLA for 11 years, he must have dealt with hundreds of engineers, SHOs, and other officials, and in his constituency, he must have dealt with many contractors, claiming that not a single person ever said that he ever took money.

The AAP leader said if he is arrested in the coming days, his lawyers would hold press conferences and release evidence on social media showing how a conspiracy was fabricated and taken out against him.
