Doc donates `25,000 towards CM relief Fund

Exhibiting selfless gesture, Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Senior Superintendent Dr Ramesh Chand donated an amount of Rs 25,000 towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The cash award was part of the prize conferred by the Department of Environment, Science and Technology last year, at the state Environment Leadership Awards-2017 to Dr Ramesh Chand.

He handed over the cheque himself to the CM Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday.

Dr Ramesh said that he believed in putting money to good use and the CM relief Fund was the most suitable way that could help in serving the needy and the poor.

Ramesh Chand an old hand in hospital administration had assumed the charge of Senior Medical Superintendent in February 2013, and prior to it, he had served as a deputy Medical Superintendent from 2008. A philanthropist, Dr Ramesh Chand is also known to have donated blood over 70 times.

“Having a rare blood group, O negative that is in much demand, I have voluntarily donated blood since 1984,” he said.
