The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been honoured with the Achievement Award in the Operational Excellence category by UITP, the International Association of Public Transport.
In recognition of the DMRC’s excellence in advancing sustainable urban transport, the award celebrates DMRC’s smart door-to-door travel service for commuters.
“The service integrates first/last mile connectivity, real-time information, and seamless ticketing to make journeys smoother and more sustainable,” a DMRC spokesperson said on Sunday.
“The service is accessible through the DMRC Sarthi App, an AI-powered integrated platform that bridges the gap between metro and first/last-mile transport,” the spokesperson said.
This ecosystem allows commuters to plan and book their complete journey from origin to destination—including travel from home to the metro station, the metro ride, and the metro station to the final destination.
Commuters pay a single integrated fare for the entire trip.
The award was presented during the UITP Awards Ceremony in Brussels on June 23.
UITP’s Operational Excellence award recognises public transport companies that demonstrate outstanding performance, innovation, and impact in day-to-day public transport service.
The award was received by Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, Director Operations and Services and Rajnish Rana Addl General Manager/Operations DMRC.
