As a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) observed Cyber Security Awareness Month to enhance cyber awareness and foster knowledge sharing among the workforce during the month of October 2025.
“As a part of this awareness, the DMRC organised a series of activities aimed at raising awareness and promoting cybersecurity best practices. These activities included UITP India Urban Rail Conference 2025 and the CISOs Roundtable,” a DMRC spokesperson said on Sunday.
UITP India Urban Rail Conference 2025 was hosted by DMRC under the theme “Success Stories of Global Cities”.
The conference highlighted innovative approaches and global collaborations in the field of urban rail and cybersecurity. This conference was attended by officials from India, Canada, Spain, Portugal and Austria.
The CISOs Roundtable was a high-level discussion. It brought together Cyber Information Security Officers (CISOs) from public and private sector organisations to exchange insights and share best practices in cybersecurity.
Distinguished guests during the awareness month included Dr Gulshan Rai, Former National Cyber Security Coordinator (NCSC), and Dr Sanjay Bahl, Director General, CERT-IN, whose insights enriched the overall proceedings.
The Cyber Security Awareness Month concluded with an insightful session led by Col Nidhish Bhatnagar, former Director of Rashtriya Raksha University. He delivered an engaging lecture on cyber awareness, highlighting the significance of safe online behaviour and essential security best practices.
During the month, the Cyber Security Quiz Competition 2025 was conducted in two rounds—an online round followed by an offline round across various DMRC departments to promote awareness and learning in an engaging manner. The Running Shield for the winner was presented to the winning Head of Department, Raman Goyal, General Manager/Operations.
Also during this period, DMRC and C3iHub, IIT Kanpur, took a significant step towards strengthening cybersecurity posture and cyber resilience by signing an MoU to strengthen cooperation in key areas such as policy and framework formulation, research, innovation, and capacity building.
“The DMRC remains committed to strengthening its cyber resilience and promoting a culture of cyber awareness across all levels of the organisation,” the spokesperson added.
