Barasat TMC candidate suffers head injury after road mishap
Trinamul candidate Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar narrowly escaped an accident on her way to the Trinamul office in Badu Road, Madhyamgram.
The South Dinajpur Information and Culture department in another instance of campaigning prior to the panchayat poll on Wednesday flagged off two decorated vehicles fitted with screens to display development work of the state.
These vehicles will be moving across the rural areas to acknowledge people with development work of the government.
The vehicles are enabled with modern digital facilities along with traditional media to disseminate developmental projects of the government among the people.

The District Magistrate of South Dinajpur and the district President of the TMC were present in the opening ceremony in front of the district magistrate’s office on Wednesday.
Prior to the panchayat election, the district administration has started this campaign in favor of the state government.
The main event for the campaign will be organized at the Gangarampur Rabindra Bhavan from 22 March and will continue till 24 March while the vehicles will be touring across the district.
Eminent artists from Kolkata will be performing in the programme. The vehicles will be covering almost all the blocks and panchayats in the district.
Developmental projects of the state will be displayed through the digital projector while traditional folk artists will be performing songs and dances in the vehicles.
The District Magistrate of South Dinajpur, Sarad Kumar Dwievedi said, “We will be representing a number of developmental projects of the state government like the Kannyashree, Yubashre, Rupshree and others to the public to inform them about the activities of the government.”
