Delhi Division of Northern Railway is constantly endeavouring to upgrade its rail infrastructure and has completed a significant modernisation project at Delhi Kishanganj railway station.

“Delhi Kishanganj Railway station is now better equipped to handle train operations,” an official from the Northern Railway said.

“The upgradation work took place from May 5 to May 13 and has successfully commissioned the electronic signalling system at Delhi Kishanganj (DKZ) railway station on May 13,” the official further said.

With this modernisation and yard remodelling, the latest electronic interlocking based signalling system has been introduced, enhancing safety, reliability, operational efficiency and smooth train movements in the section.

The upgraded system incorporates modern signalling technology with improved fail-safe features and better monitoring. The total cost of the work was about Rs 34 crore.

The commissioning marks another significant step towards modernization of signalling infrastructure in Delhi Division and reflects the continuous efforts of Indian Railways to provide safer and more efficient train operations for passengers and freight traffic alike.

The achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of the Railways Delhi Division and Headquarters Project team, the official added.
