A 33-year-old woman has been arrested for forcing her 13-year-old daughter into prostitution in west Delhi&’s Paschim Vihar, police said on Tuesday.
 The woman&’s arrest came after the complainant recorded her statement in the presence of a magistrate after approaching Paschim Vihar police station on 5 March.  “After she approached us with her complaint, we sent her for a medical examination which confirmed sexual assault,” said a police officer. A case was registered immediately and the matter was investigated thoroughly.
 The complainant had approached police with her maternal grandmother with whom she had been staying since having run away from her own home to escape her mother&’s clutches last week.
 In her complaint to police, the victim had alleged that her mother had forced her to have sex with three men within days at Nizamuddin, Minawali Nagar and Dwarka. “If the teenager refused or tried to disobey her mother, she has alleged that she was subjected to physical assault,” the officer added.

Minor rescued from brothel
 The Delhi Police on Monday rescued a minor girl who had been locked up inside the basement of a brothel in Central Delhi’s GB Road area.  According to the police, they conducted a raid following a tip-off last night and rescued the girl from kotha (brothel) number-42 in GB road.  The victim, who hails from Andhra Pradesh was brought to Delhi recently on some false pretext.
