New Delhi, 10 March
Dalit leader Udit Raj, who recently joined the BJP, has accused former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader, Arvind Kejriwal, of cheating the Dalit community.
Terming Kejriwal as power hungry, liar, unethical, non-performer and anarchist (PLUNA), Raj said he exploited the dalits for votes in the Delhi assembly elections.
However, in 2006, Kejirwal openly backed the anti-reservation outfit, Youth for Equality, Raj pointed out. On 2 August 2008, he gave a lecture in JNU on the issue where he was opposed by the students by criticising reservation, Raj added.
If Kejriwal is an honest and ethical person, he should inform dalits that he does not like reservation, Raj averred, adding that mental corruption is more dangerous than economic corruption.
Raj said AAP promised safai karamcharis that they would o do away with contractual work and their jobs would be regularised. The broom (jharu) is main instrument of the safai karamcharis livelihood and they were struck emotionally by the AAP symbol, Raj said.
