Two persons were killed after heated arguments in two separate incidents in the last 24 hours in the Capital.
The first incident was reported from Bhajanpura area of north-east Delhi, where a landlord was strangled by his tenant over a rent dispute. The accused was later arrested after he initially fled the house along with his wife and children. The deceased Nandkishore Mishra was living at Gangotri Vihar in North Ghonda. He was attacked by his 36-year-old tenant Rajesh at around 11 pm. Nandkishore lived on the first floor of the house with his daughter Harshita, 12, and son Jatin, 11. Nandkishore&’s sister Shaarda told police that Nandkishore and Rajesh used to have heated arguments over rent. It is alleged that Rajesh kept on threatening Nandkishore with dire consequences. Shaarda was present when the incident took place. “She raised an alarm after which Rajesh pushed Nandkishore to the ground,” said the police. Police found Nandkishore dead on the spot.
His body was handed over to the family after post-mortem at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. A case of murder has been filed over Shaarda&’s statement with Bhajanpura police station.
In the second incident, a 25-year-old youth was killed by two of his friends during a scuffle while consuming alcohol in Punjabi Bagh area. The accused have been arrested.
Vinod, who has criminal record, was with his friends Jogendra and Jitendra at a park in Paschimpuri when the attack took place. Police said he was beaten up and his head was crushed at around 11 pm.   
A passerby informed the police. Vinod was found lying in a pool of blood. “He was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, but was declared brought dead,” said the police.
