Five persons including a Delhi police sub-inspector have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the leakage of question papers of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination-2013 conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) at all India level.
The accused were identified as Amit(24), Rahul Dabas(23), Manoj Vermas(32), Ajay Kumar and Kuldeep. According to police, on a tip-off that a syndicate of cheat will leak the question paper of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination-2013 conducted by SSC, solve it and send the answer key through mobile phones to the candidates appearing in the exam.
Accordingly, a team conducted a raid in a farm house where seven persons found operating with mobile phones, where five accused persons were apprehended but two persons managed to escape from the spot. One of the absconding is reported to be working in Railway Protection Force as Sub-Inspector and other is brother of one the apprehended accused person.
The accused persons were put to sustained interrogation and it was revealed that they were sending answer keys of question paper through the mobile phones. It was further revealed the accused persons assured the candidates that answer key of the question paper will be provided just before the commencement of the examination through SMS. For this facilitation, they were charging lakh of rupees from the candidates.
Ajay Kumar a sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, revealed that he used to show off his post to save the other accused persons from the police.
The mobile phones having answer keys of all four sets of question papers were seized.
The national level examination is being conducted in batches at all India level. To identify the source behind the organised cheating racket, help of technical surveillance is being taken and in-depth investigation will be conducted in the matter.
